Whilst many of us take little notice of the surrounding environment when filling our cars up with petrol or diesel, there’s actually a lot more than meets the eye. Forecourt and fuel management ensures that the set-up, maintenance and running of petrol stations are as expected.Â
However, this encompasses its own issues. Maintenance on both the forecourt, and also in underground storage tanks for both petrol and diesel is regularly required, meaning individuals can be exposed to dangerous gases, often at hazardous levels.Â
This regular exposure to both diesel and petrol, at high volumes and often in enclosed or restricted areas, whether on the forecourt or in underground storage tanks, can lead to overexposure and subsequent health concerns, including lung cancers, respiratory and allergic irritations. Effective gas detection is often needed.Â
